Let’s Pretend Catering was established in 1985 by Barbara J. Bardin. Barbara’s vision of combining beautiful decor, delicious food, excellent service and attention to details quickly made Let’s Pretend a premier catering company in the state.

In 2005, after colaberating from time to time, Barbara sold the company to Daniel Samson and Liane Mendez. As former owners of Market Fresh Catering, they pride themselves on the same high quality precedents that Barb instilled many years ago. Today, we are all one management team and remain one of the premier catering companies in the region.

Chef/Owners
Daniel Samson and Liane Mendez are graduates of New England Culinary Institute and have worked for several high end restaurants and cafes prior to starting their own catering company. The partnership formed while working together on several projects at NECI. Their complimentary styles and passion for excellence have elevated Let's Pretend to ne heights.

Planners/Coordinators
Barbara J. Bardin is our Chief Fantasy Officer. Her creativity and flair bring our clients' ideas to life.

Brandi Samson is our office manager. Brandi’s efficient office and organizational skills along with her pleasant demeaner is what keeps everything flowing smoothly behind the scenes at Let’s Pretend Catering.

Chefs
Amelia Briggs joins us from the Fresh Market - Cheese Outlet. As a fellow NECI graduate, Amelia has also worked with Daniel and Liane from time to time over the years. Her knowledge, culinary background and leaderships skills make her a natural fit to the Let’s Pretend Team.

Our service team
We are very proud of our service team. Our turnover rate is very low and many of our worker bees have been with the company for more than five years. Servers must go through an extensive workshop before being assigned to an event. This allows us to properly train each individual on service and etiquette.
